Norwegian production decreased in Q4

The oil production on the Norwegian continental shelf in the fourth quarter of 2009 was stable and increased somewhat from the third quarter.
Six new small discoveries were made in the fourth quarter, and nineteen exploration and appraisal wells were completed on the Norwegian continental shelf in the same period. That is five more than in the corresponding period in 2008. 22 mobile drilling rigs were activity, and 40 development wells and five sidesteps in development wells were spudded. In comparison, during the corresponding period in 2008, 33 development wells and 8 sidesteps were spudded. Production The production of oil decreased from 2.19 Mbbls per day in the fourth quarter of 2008 to 2.02 Mbbls per day in fourth quarter of 2009. Including condensate and liquid natural gas (NGL), the daily production of liquids fell by 160 000 bbls to 2.38 Mbbls. In the same period the gas production decreased with less than 1 million standard cubic metres and ended at 27.34 million standard cubic metres. The total petroleum production from the Norwegian shelf in the fourth quarter was 62.11 million cubic metres of oil equivalents. This is 3.32 million cubic metres of oil equivalents less than in the corresponding period in 2008. The new discoveries in the North Sea were: :
