Northern Offshore names new CEO

North Sea rig contractor Northern Offshore has appointed a former executive with Pride International as its new president and chief executive.

Oslo-listed Northern Offshore selected Gary Casswell to take over in the hot seat after he previously served as vice president of Eastern Hemisphere operations for Pride International which included responsibility for a fleet of 39 drillships, semi-submersibles, jackups, tender and land rigs.

Before Pride, Casswell worked for Sante Fe  International where his roles included development a deepwater strategy for that company.
